YOUR SURVIVOR, DECODED FROM THE SAVE

Your Project Zomboid character, read straight from the save.

Savecraft reads the character sheet in players.db locally — skills, XP, traits, health, worn and carried items. It is fixture-verified for vanilla Build 42.20.2 singleplayer and locally hosted saves, and works with Claude and ChatGPT.

SAVE-POWERED

A character sheet from your actual save.

The Savecraft daemon reads players.db locally, so Claude and ChatGPT get structured character facts instead of trying to reconstruct your survivor from a description.

What it reads Skills and XP, traits, a health summary including injured body parts, plus worn and carried items. The character sheet is data from the save, not an estimate.
Where the line is This alpha reads the character sheet only. Vitals, vehicles, and other world state are not reported; Build 41 is unsupported, and saves with mods that add serialized character data fail closed.
ONE REFERENCE MODULE

Item Search, straight from the game files.

Search an item by display name or full type, such as Nails. It returns its static vanilla definition — weight, tags, category, relevant weapon, food, clothing, or medical stats, and recipes where present.

Item Search

INSTANT

Search Project Zomboid items by display name or full type (e.g. 'Nails' or 'Base.Nails') and return their static definitions from the game files — weight, tags, category, and grouped weapon, food, clothing, or medical stats, plus the recipes they teach or can be researched into. Vanilla Build 42.20.2 data only.

THE DIFFERENCE

What changes

WITHOUT SAVECRAFT
YOU How injured am I, and what am I carrying?
AI I cannot see your save, so check the health panel and inventory. A good rule is to treat every injury before it gets worse and keep a few useful tools on hand.

Generic advice. It has not read this survivor.

CHARACTER SHEET — FROM THE SAVE
YOU |

The real fixture character sheet, quoted from players.db.

HOW YOU USE IT

A survivor record that answers back.

Health, loadout, and item facts from the save and vanilla game scripts — no invented character state.

* HEALTH CHECK
YOU What needs attention on my character?
AI The health summary gives the minimum body-part health, injured parts, and infection status. It can tell you how many body parts are hurt and whether you are infected, without guessing at vitals the save does not report.
= LOADOUT CHECK
YOU What am I wearing and carrying?
AI Worn and carried items are listed separately in the character sheet, so a loadout question starts with what the save actually records rather than a remembered checklist.
% ITEM SEARCH
YOU Can you look up Nails?
AI Item Search searches by display name or full type and returns the static definition from vanilla Build 42.20.2: weight, tags, category, relevant stats, and recipe links where the game scripts provide them.
METHODOLOGY

We show the boundary.

The character sheet and item reference have different sources, and both say exactly what they cover.

players.db, read locally The parser reads the character sheet from players.db on the machine where you play. The fixture character sheet verifies the health, skills, traits, and worn and carried-item output.
Vanilla game scripts Item Search is generated from Project Zomboid's own vanilla Build 42.20.2 scripts. Modded items are intentionally not treated as reference data.
Honest limits Build 42 saves with world version 249 only, for singleplayer and locally hosted games. This is an alpha release; Build 41, modded serialized character data, vitals, vehicles, and other world state are outside this version.
